Johnny Scott bags Top 10 finish in Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway
On Friday evening Stormy Scott followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) while Johnny entered the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa). In a field of 33 LOLMDS entries, Stormy edged his way into the opening night feature with a fourth place finish in his heat. Losing nine spots in the 50-lap affair, Scott logged a 22nd place outing.
For the 12th annual Slocum 50, Johnny came in third fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $10,555-to-win A-Main in ninth, Scott improved three spots to register a sixth place finish.
On Saturday evening in a field of 31 cars at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Independence 50, Stormy posted the third fastest time in his group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Rolling off on the pole for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Scott was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on the 12th lap.
