Cory Hedgecock third in Crate portion of Volunteer 50 weekend at Volunteer Speedway

Pulling double duty in both his Super and Crate Late Model, Cory Hedgecock rolled into Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Volunteer 50.

With 42 Super Late Models split into two features, Hedgecock started seventh in his $5,050-to-win prelim and scored a podium finish in third. Missing the setup in Crate qualifying, Cory started 14th and finished ninth in the $1,500-to-win feature.

With a pair of finales slated for Saturday, Hedgecock locked himself into both main events. Falling back a few spots in the Super A-Main, Cory recorded an 11th-place finish but found speed in the $8,050-to-win Crate feature where he scored a podium finish. He trailed Jeremy Steele and Ricky Weiss while Travis Fultz and Skylar Marlar completed the Top-5.
