Hedgecock invited to Intercontinental Classic at Eldora
With the 50th annual World 100 getting postponed to 2021, Cory Hedgecock was one of 48 Late Models invited to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night to compete in the Intercontinental Classic. After coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, Hedgecock streaked to a 12-lap consolation victory, which positioned him 19th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Dropping one spot in the 30-lap affair, Cory logged a 20th place outing.
The following night for another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Cory slipped up two spots in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Needing to place third or better, Hedgecock fell short with a seventh place outing. (Zach Yost photo)
With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for the heat races on Saturday, Hedgecock came in seventh in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $50,000-to-win Intercontinental Classic with a B-Main appearance. Slated to start on the tail, Cory elected to scratch from the 15-lapper to save equipment.
