Wenger notches sixth-place finish at Sycamore Speedway

McKay Wenger headed north over the weekend to make his first start of the 2024 season at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.) for the MARS Late Model Championship Series sanctioned program.

Joining a field of 26 competitors, McKay followed up the fifth-fastest qualifying effort with a runner-up heat finish. After jumping out to an early race lead in the feature, Wenger slipped over the cushion the second lap, surrendering the point to Ryan Unzicker. He went onto place sixth in the 40-lapper.

For the $10,000-to-win KerbyStrong 100 at Saturday at Macon (IL) Speedway, Wenger discovered motor issues after his time trial session that brought a disappointing end to his weekend.
