Fifth-place finish in Corn State Nationals at Davenport Speedway

McKay Wenger was back behind the wheel of the Curless Motorsports No. 99 Late Model on Friday for the MARS Late Model Championship Series-sanctioned Brownstown 100 at Brownstown Bullring (Brownstown, Ill.).

Following a runner-up heat showing, Wenger posted an eighth-place finish in the 50-lap feature.

On Saturday, McKay and the team trekked to Davenport (IA) Speedway to compete with the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) for the Corn State Nationals. With a third-place finish in his heat race positioning him on the fifth row for the $10,000-to-win weekend finale, Wenger climbed four positions to register a fifth-place finish. He chased Garrett Alberson, Brandon Sheppard, Tyler Bruening and Tyler Erb to the checkers.
