Podium finish with World of Outlaws at Jacksonville

With 46 Late Models crammed into the pit area for the event co-sanctioned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Clanton grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him on the eighth row for the opening night feature. With $10,000 on the line, Shane gained six spots in the 40-lapper to register a 10th-place finish.
On Saturday, Clanton followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. Starting the $20,000-to-win A-Main in 17th, Shane inched forward three positions in the 55-lap affair to finish 14th.
For the Wild Man Kelly Classic on Sunday at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Ill.), Shane timed in 10th-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. Scoring a third-place finish in the feature, Clanton trailed Brandon Sheppard and Shannon Babb to the checkers with Tanner English and Jason Feger completing the Top-5 finishers.
