GRABOUSKI WINS IN MODIFIEDS
(By Bill Grit) Mayetta, KS – 6/14/14 – Saturday nights Clash on the Hill was the first of three “Ladies Nights” on the schedule. All ladies were admitted into the grandstand for free! Mark your calendar as two more “Ladies Nights” are on the schedule, one in July and the other in August.
With persistent rain cancelling Heinen Repair Night the previous week, the Conkwright family and staff worked tirelessly to insure that racers and fans had a great race night experience. The track was in fantastic shape, and the facilities were pristine.
The Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods always provide the fans great racing action week in and week out. Troy Baumgartner led the race early on, but as the race went on his car lost forward bite. At the midway point, Jeremy Pittsenbarger made a pass for the lead, getting his first win at Thunder Hill. Pittsenbarger stands proudly in the Pit Pass Liquor Victory Lane, followed by Troy Baumgartner, Luke Stallbaumer, Aaron Hilderman and Curtis Dreasher.
The BSB Manufacturing Modified division found Jordan Grabouski in the lead early on in this race. A very determined Dave Conkwright had his best run of the season, trying everything he could to get to Grabouski’s back bumper and make a pass. Each competitor would use the entire racing surface, as they raced for every position throughout the field. Grabouski gets the win and stands in the Pit Pass Liquor Victory Lane. Dave Conkwright, Mat Stallbaumer, Allen Halderman and Kyle Olberding finished out the top five.
Racing resumes next Saturday night at Thunder Hill Speedway with Abbott Workholding Products Night at the races featuring the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models. The Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods, Heinen Repair Service IMCA Stock Cars and the BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modifieds will be racing for the trophy and a chance to appear in the Pit Pass Liquor Victory Lane. The Bad Boyz Bail Bonds IMCA Hobby Stocks and the Casey’s General Store IMCA Sport Compacts will have the night off. Bring a friend!!! You don’t want to miss this! Hot laps with racing to follow after drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m. Friend Thunder Hill Speedway on Facebook or for more information, visit us at www.racethunderhillspeedway.com
