Sanders returns to victory lane at Texas Motor Speedway

Another trip to The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway on Monday night resulted in the same end result for Rodney Sanders. He once again piloted the David Tanner-owned Wichita Tank Racing MB Customs Modified to the $2,500 victory as he conquered his sixth race in seven starts in 2021 at the Texas oval.

The victory was his 16th overall win of the season.

Friday night found Rodney Sanders in action at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.), where he was pulling double duty in both the Late Model and Modified ranks for the Rumble by the River 40. After finishing fifth in his Late Model heat race, Sanders was an early retiree from the feature.

In his Modified, Sanders followed up an eight-lap heat race victory with a second-place finish in the feature. He followed Josh Angst across the line with Dustin Sorensen, Jake Timm, and Jacob Bleess rounding out the Top-5.

After Saturday’s event at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) rained out, Rodney traveled to Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Sunday to compete in his Modified. With a heat race win placing him fourth on the starting grid for the feature, Sanders jumped up two spots to finish second.

On Monday at the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway (Justin, Texas), Sanders held off a charging Bo Day in the feature to capture his 16th win of the season and a $2,500 prize. He finished ahead of Day, Manuel Williams, Jack Sartain, and Jason Ingalls.
