Sanders records three-win weekend at Boothill Speedway

Rodney Sanders brought the curtain down on the 2021 season over the weekend with a trio of victories accumulated between his Wichita Tank Racing No. 20 Kenny’s Tile/ ARMI Contractors/ MB Customs/ Hatfield Racing Engine Modified and Limited Modified.

The winning performances were registered at Louisiana’s Boothill Speedway during the USRA Southern Nationals.

“We capped what has been a really good year for us with three wins in Louisiana. We didn’t get the USMTS championship this year, but we won a lot of big races. We ended up with 20 wins between the Late Model, the Modified, and the Limited Modified, so there’s definitely nothing for us to hang our heads about,” Sanders said. “A big thanks goes out to my family, my team, my sponsors, and all of my fans for so much great support. We had a good year in 2021, but now we are focused on a great year in 2022.”

On Thursday afternoon, Rodney Sanders invaded Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.), where he set his sights on double duty in the Modified and Limited Modified ranks for the USRA Southern Nationals.

In a field of 27 USRA American Racing Modified Series (ARMS) entries, Sanders followed up a third-place finish in his heat with an eighth-to-second run in the feature.

In his Limited Modified, Sanders picked up an eight-lap heat win before placing third in the A-Main.

The following night, Rodney’s heat race win in his Modified positioned him second on the starting grid for the feature. Holding off Triston Dycus in the 30-lap affair, Sanders rolled to his 18th win of the season, which came ahead of Dycus, Jason Ingalls, Dillon McCowan, and Chris Henigan. He pocketed $3,000 for the triumph.

In the No. 02 Limited Modified, Sanders advanced three spots in the 20-lap feature to finish fifth.
