Dills Continues to Build Sprint Car Career With Second Straight Track Title

Inside Line Promotions – COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (Sept. 13, 2016) – Patrick Dills achieved several goals during a strong season of racing sprint cars in the Northwest.
Dills recorded his second straight Extreme Sprints track championship at Cottage Grove Speedway and he picked up a pair of feature victories.
“Our main goals were to win the championship, win some races and improve our 360ci program,” he said. “I think we accomplished all of those goals.”
Dills used consistency to capture the crown. He was tied for the division lead in wins (two), top fives (eight) and top 10s (10), but he capitalized on strong qualifying and heat race performances.
“We were consistent almost every night out in the Extreme Sprints class,” he said. “Even when we had bad nights we were finishing fifth or sixth.”
Dills placed seventh in the 360 championship standings at Cottage Grove Speedway despite skipping a couple of races. He did earn three top 10s in four features made.
Dills said the team will focus on 360 sprint car competition next season.
“We’re already preparing for next year and are thinking of doing a little more traveling along the West Coast,” he said. “We’re getting better each year so I’m excited to think about the possibilities that next year might bring.
“I want to thank my dad and Jake for their hard work as well as all of my sponsors and fans for their support. I can’t wait to build on this year and get next season rolling.”
