Hodges Motorsports Update - USA Raceway

We are all finished here at the USA Raceway in Tucson, AZ. Sparks flew with the ASCS Southwest region tonight, but our night was rather uneventful. I started off pulling pill 44 which set me starting 4th in the 2nd heat. The track was rough and choppy from the get go, and started getting a small black slick streak through the middle. I got a decent start but in turn 1 was hung up and fell to 5th before I got by for 4th of 2. The rest of the race would go on with little passing, but I still was not completely happy with how the car handled. We now got the 12th starting spot for the A-Feature. The track now was dusty slick from top to bottom. I got a few cars on the start, and picked off a few little by little. I was up to 6th when about halfway through, we had our first caution which I was in the middle of but with a little maneuvering, I was able to escape unscaved. I got one car that was involved in the wreck which put me up into the 5th spot. The track was now taking rubber on the bottom of the track, and using a lap car as a pick, I was able to advance my position into 4th. For the remainder of the race, there was very little passing with one groove of rubber, and I ended up finishing 4th. All throughout the main, I felt that the motor started laying down and getting tired, and towards the end, I was just happy to finish with it in one piece. I'm afraid that this was its last night before it gets refreshed, and I'm not sure where we will be racing next. A shoutout to the Collums family at Halbert Cabinets and Henry Montoya. We couldn't do it without you guys!
