Hodges Motorsports Update - Dodge City Raceway

It was an interesting night to say the least for the Hodges Motorsports team here at Dodge City Raceway. 30 cars made the tow, and after pulling 68 in pill draw, I was set to start 7th (last) in the 3rd heat race. Before we could get there, though, we blew the motor before we could get a lap in hot laps, and had to change it. We were able to make the swap in 25 minutes, and got out for our heat race. After no hot laps, and not being able to read the track, we struggled in the heat and was only able to finish 6th. That wasn't enough to make the cut for the 30 lap A-Feature, so we had to run the B starting from 6th. We got started after they reworked the track (which was rough all night) and I was able to get to 5th on the start, just one spot out of the transfer, before I got in too high in turn 3 and spun it around before I could save the car. That set me to the back, 12th, where I would begin my race back to the front. The car was better, and I started getting more comfortable, and by a late race caution with about 3 laps to go, I was back up to 5th. After the restart, the car in front of me didn't get a good start and I jumped the Left Rear, standing the car up on its rear wheels and setting me back to 8th. With the 3 laps remaining, I was able to work myself just inches shy of the transfer spot, coming home in 5th, and ending our night. We are not sure what we will do next, after hurting the motor pretty badly, so we may have to regroup. We thank all our sponsors for sticking with us through the bad nights, as well as all the Mothers out there that put up with us. Happy Mother's Day to my mom, and all the others out there.
