Hodges Motorsports Update - Canyon Speedway Park

Day 1 of the Canyon Clash is over at the Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona. It was a night jam-packed with close, flat-out non-wing racing. I started off the night from 3rd in the 3rd heat after pulling the 20 pill. The track was still heavy and fast. On the start, I held my own in 3rd until about 3 laps in, when I got by a car for 2nd. I was on the bumper of 1st, but I couldn't get by before the checkered flag waved. That still put us in the top 8 re-draw, where I pulled 6 to start 6th. The track started getting slick up top, but still seemed very good until a few laps in. I was up to about 4th and my car was getting looser and looser with the deteriating track conditions. Towards the end, I started slipping back, and I fell to 7th, where I would finish after going green to checkered. Although we felt we were not very good last night, we still got a decent finish, and we look forward to tonight, as we do it all over again.
