Jamie Ball – Third win of the season!

[i (Outlaw Karting of Iowa)] After a week break in racing action the Outlaw Karting of Iowa team was prepared for action at English Creek Speedway. After the engine troubles on May 22, 2009 the team took apart both the engines and got them both refreshed and ready for the competition. The night would start out good with a #28 draw number putting the #5Jr on the outside row one of heat race one. The heats are 8 laps long and Ball would go on to lead all eight laps of heat one. "The car was great, the track was quite dry but I found a small line on the bottom that stuck like glue". Heat two Jamie would go onto start third row inside and after getting through all of the traffic on lap one Ball found himself in second and that is where he would stay for the reminder of the race, Nick DeMoss #5 would be your heat race winner. "By the time we got through the other 4 karts in the heat it was too late as DeMoss started up front and was out to a comfortable lead". The first place and second place finishes in the heats would put Ball in the position to win just as planned. He would start on the pole alongside fellow competitor Nick DeMoss #5. As it often happens the "Battle of the 5's" would continue. The first start would be called back due to the front row not being side by side at the white line. The second start would be good and Ball got the jump on DeMoss into turn one. The track was dry and the fast line was around the bottom and Ball would master the bottom and go onto to a straight away lead over DeMoss. Lap 10 there was a yellow for a slowing #92c of Cody Ambers. Restart with 5 to go had the running order 5jr, 5, 4. The following restart going into turn one the #5 of Nick DeMoss would lose control of his racing machine and loop it drawing yet another yellow flag. Finally the last and final restart of the race took place and Ball went onto win his third win of the season over second place Tanner Edwards #4 and third place Devin Kline #15. After the race Ball went onto say, "our car was great once again just like it always is. We loosened the kart back up for the feature and was able to run the bottom really tight and that was key due to tonight track conditions. Overall this was a great confidence booster for the Outlaw Karting of Iowa team".
