Jamie Ball
Jamie Ball – 4 out of 5 in 2009!
[i (Outlaw Karting of Iowa)] Due to rain outs English Creek Speedway went on a three week break. Coming off a win on June 5, 2009 the Jamie ball #5Jr team was confident to keep the win streak alive. The night would start out with a #49 draw number putting the #5Jr on the inside row three of heat race one. The heat started off bad with the car dying on the start and falling back to last before turn one. After the car started to run a little bit better Ball would go on to throw a nice slide job on #4 Tanner Edwards and #15 Devin Kline to take over third place. Third place is as far as the #5Jr could make it. "The jetting was just a little bit off and the car was dying in the corners which caused us to finish third". Heat two Jamie would start outside row one and would go onto lead all 8 laps of heat two. “We won the heat which is good because it put us in the position to win for the a-main, but the jetting is still off a bit and we will change it again and try to get things perfect for the a-main”. The first place and third place finishes in the heats would put Ball in the position to win just as planned. He would start on the outside of row one alongside fellow competitor Nick DeMoss #5. The first start would be called back due to a spun out kart. The second start would be good and Ball got the jump on DeMoss into turn one. The track was tacky all over but, the fast line was around the bottom and Ball would master the bottom and go onto to win by over straight away over DeMoss. The race went green all the way through for the first time this season. The checkered flag flew and Ball got his fourth win of the season. After the race Ball went onto say, "The motor ran great, thanks to the help of Jimmy Zimmerman tuning my motor over the phone from Montana we were able to get it perfect. My SKE Kart once again handled great and made my job easy”.
