Sodeman Launches New Season with Consecutive Top-Ten Finishes

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (April 18, 2016) - Jack Sodeman, Jr. made his 2016 debut during the recent weekend by entering competition at the Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park; routine Western Pennsylvania destinations for the North Jackson, Ohio, native. The second generation racer earned back-to-back top-ten finishes during his weekend travels, including a podium finish at Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, April 16. Sodeman will attempt to repeat success this Friday and Saturday, April 22 and 23, when he returns to the Sarver and Mercer ovals.
“Not a bad weekend at all,” said Sodeman, Jr. “Starting the year with two top-ten finishes is important. Gives us some positive momentum heading into the rest of the month. We had a lot of fun debuting the throwback car. It was exciting to see everyone’s reaction. We’ll have our regular car out this weekend when we head back to Lernerville and Mercer.”

The pilot of the Glassmere Fuel, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc., Butlerbuilt, No. 23JR, finished sixth during his visit to Lernerville Speedway on Friday night, April 15. An impressive charge forward from 14th on the main event grid during a non-stop 25-lapper solidified his spot inside the top-ten. Sodeman’s seventh row starting position was the result of a “DNF” heat race finish.

Jack Sodeman, Jr.’s success continued on Saturday night with a third place performance at the Mercer Raceway Park. The defending 410 sprint car track champion started third during the $3,000-to-win main event, maintaining his position inside the top-five the entire distance.

“We had some power steering issues on Friday, forcing us to pull off the track during our heat race,” explained Sodeman. “Starting 14th made our night difficult, but we pushed through and worked forward for a solid finish. We race against a lot of young talent, so anytime you can move that far forward says a lot about your race team. At Mercer, we started near the front and stayed there. Not sure we were the best car on the track, but we raced hard and maintained our position. We’ll try to improve by a few spots this weekend.”
