Clauson Win Count Climbs to Five with Circular Insanity at Ten Percent

Lonnie Wheatley, OCALA, Fla. (February 25, 2016) – Twenty races down, only 180 to go.

With last weekend’s USAC Winter Dirt Games triple at Ocala’s Bubba Raceway Park in the books, Bryan Clauson is now ten percent into the “Circular Insanity Tour” pursuit of 200 races.

He has another win to go with it as well, running the early season count to five triumphs with a Thursday night score aboard the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/B&H Contractors/Dooling Machine No. 63 entry fielded by Joe Dooling and Brodie Hayward.

The migration westward begins this weekend with a pair of World of Outlaws events in Texas in the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Elk Grove Ford No. 17w Sprint Car on Friday and Saturday.

The past weekend featured a win, a charge from deep in the field on Friday and another near win on Saturday.

“It was a good week, it started off real good with a win on night one,” Clauson said of Thursday’s 18th race of Circular Insanity.

“We missed it a lot in qualifying on Friday, it put us deep,” Clauson said of Winter Dirt Games Night Two. “We were able to drive up through the field to fourth. We had a great racecar, we were just in too much of a hole to begin with.”

Then on Saturday night, it looked as if Clauson would pick off his second win of the weekend as he cruised out front in the 30-lapper. But track conditions came into play, with the right rear not making the distance on the rubber down surface. Clauson changed tires and rallied back to seventh.

“We put ourselves in position to win, but sometimes the fastest car doesn’t win,” Clauson explained.

“We’re happy with the weekend,” Clauson continued. “We were dominant all weekend, can’t really ask for much more.”

This weekend, it’s back to World of Outlaws action at a pair of tracks that will both be first-time stops for Clauson. The weekend begins Friday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, TX, before moving on to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, TX, on Saturday.

“Cotton Bowl will be pretty much a level playing field for everyone since they haven’t been there,” Clauson says. “It’s been a while since we had that.”

Clauson looks forward to the trip westward after three weekends in Florida.
“We left Florida with good momentum and some wins,” Clauson comments. “We’re excited about heading west now and ready to hit ground running with the winged car.”

2016 Circular Insanity Tour Quick Stats: 20 races, 5 wins, 12 top-fives, 16 top-tens.

Up Next: World of Outlaws Sprint Cars at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, TX, on Friday and Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, TX, on Saturday.
