Jackson Thompson
Williams, IA
Driver Information
9 year old Jackson is just a small-town kid that loves doing kid things. He likes riding his bike around with his big sister, swimming in the swimming pool with friends, going to the library, playing racing games on his kindle, playing his VR headset, playing basketball in the driveway, messing with his doggo's, causing trouble with his best friend Carsyn and whatever else may come up.
He first stepped into a go-kart at Poplar Grove Speedway on a practice night in July of 2020 where his best friend Carsyn's dad invited him down to let Jackson try his hand behind the wheel of Carsyn's go-kart. After catching on fairly quick that night his parents knew they were in trouble. We all traveled down a few more times that year on race nights to support Carsyn and other friends. After lots of back and forth between mom and dad, mainly saying " No, we're not getting Jackson into racing, " they broke down and surprised him with a new to him Triton Jr go-kart for Christmas that year.
Jackson entered 2021 as one of a few new Rookies to the Putt Putt class but soon caught on with lots of encouragement and help from family, friends, and fellow racers/parents and got his first win on only his 4th night out (his parents Anniversary) in his own go kart and was able to get one more win (on his dads Birthday) before the end of his first season.
With lots of help in the offseason from a season veteran and getting his kart freshened completely up and ready, he was able to capitalize his first night out in 2022 and get the first win for the year, finishing with 4 total wins, 13 top 5's out of 13 events in 2022.
