Top-15 Finish with the Outlaws!!
Bristol, WI – May 14, 2014. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team headed south to the Wisconsin/Illinois border this past weekend to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI to take on the World of Outlaws. It was the Outlaws first visit to the third-mile facility since the 2008 season. Bill would start off by laying down the 7th fastest time of the thirty-three cars on hand. Scheduled to start 3rd in the 3rd heat race, Bill would get to move up a row after the pole-sitter stopped on the speedway before the green flag would wave. At the drop of the green, Bill would drive deep into turn one, but David Gravel would drive under the 17B sprinter to the lead with Bill in tow. Bill would chase Gravel to the checkers to finish in the 2nd position transferring him to the feature, but missing the Dash. Lining up in the 11th starting position in the feature, Bill would gain a few spots running as high as the 8th position early in the race. A few cautions plagued the thirty lap feature with Bill beginning to lose handle of the 17B sprinter causing him to slide back to a 15th place finish. With the weather on the fence in Knoxville, IA for Saturday night, the team opted to stay home and prepare for this weekend’s race.
This weekend, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team will make their second appearance at the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI on Saturday May 17th for a contest with the Interstate Racing Association. Bill would finish 4th in the season opener at the third-mile high banked facility behind Phillip Mock, Bill Rose, and Mike Reinke. The following weekend, the team has a double-header on tap as they will return to the Wilmot Raceway on Saturday, May 24th and then will travel north up Interstate 43 on Sunday, May 25th for the first of two visits to the 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, WI. Both contests are with the Interstate Racing Association. The six-time IRA champion currently sits tied atop of the IRA point standings with Bill Rose and is the only driver in 2014 to have 2 – Top-5 finishes.
