7-Time Interstate Racing Association Champion!!!
Bristol, WI – October 2, 2014. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team headed up to Luxemburg, WI this past Friday to the Luxemburg Speedway for the 1st Annual Battle at the Bay. It was Bill’s first time back at the facility since the 2005 season in which Bill was chasing his Rookie of the Year title. The night started off with Bill laying down the fastest lap of the twenty-eight cars on hand shattering the track record. Lining up 6th in the heat race, Bill would try the high side of the track, but lost control of the car heading into turn three going over the edge and flipping hard and destroying the racecar ending the teams night.
The team worked late into the night Friday night and early Saturday morning into the early afternoon to get a car together for the IRA season finale at the “Horse-Power Half-Mile” of the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI. Bill would once again start the night with the fastest qualifying lap of the thirty cars on hand setting him up with a 6th place starting position in the heat race. Bill would hold his position in the beginning of the heat race before making his way up to 4th by the midway point. Bill followed the 3rd place car the remainder of the race to finish 4th and transfer into the feature. Bill would draw the #5 pill for the feature invert setting him up with a 10th place starting position in the feature. When the green flag flew Bill would lose several positions early in the race. He would claw his way forward into the 8th position after twenty-five laps claiming his 7th consecutive Interstate Racing Association Championship.
This Friday and Saturday, Bill will pilot the Jimmy Davies #99 at the Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL for the Gold Crown with the MOWA series. Bill’s last visit to the Tri-City Speedway was in 2012 aboard the B2 Motorsports 17B sprint car finishing in the 9th position after going to the rear due to a flat left front tire with less than ten laps remaining.
