Chaney Riding Momentum Into Fremont After Charging to Top-Five Finish During Last Race

Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (May 16, 2018) – Rob Chaney has momentum on his side after charging from deep in the field to score a top-five finish for CH Motorsports during a race on May 5 at Fremont Speedway.

Chaney qualified 19th quickest out of 26 cars, starting him deep in his heat race and eventually placing him in the B Main.

“The track was pretty fast early,” said Chaney, who started seventh and finished sixth in his heat race. “Our cars and the motor we run on smaller tracks are more designed toward when it’s slicker so we struggled a little bit in qualifying and into the heat race.”

Chaney won the B Main from the pole and lined up 16th in the 20-car A Main before rallying to a fifth-place finish.

“The track kind of slowed down enough during the feature for us,” he said. “We made some adjustments and got to where we were going pretty good. We were battling for the next couple of spots at the end.”

Chaney and CH Motorsports are planning to return to Fremont Speedway this Saturday.

“I feel like any time we go somewhere we have a chance,” he said. “We’ve shown we can pass cars and if we start up front we can stay up front. I think we have things going in a good direction.”
