Derek Snyder
Top 3 at Toledo!
Derek and his family returned to Toledo Speedway to race with the King of Wing Midwest series. The competition was stout but experience at Toledo would give Snyder a competitive edge all day. Snyder qualified 6th with a 12.938 which would help him on the invert in the feature. In the heat race, Snyder fell back to 7th, saving the car for the upcoming 40 lap feature.
Starting on the outside of the second row, Snyder zoomed around pole sitter Jason Cox and immediately put his sights on Dave Baumgardner. By the end of the first lap Snyder was leading and pulling away. Snyder had a dominating lead until lap 28 when Bobby Santos slipped by him for the lead. In the final laps, Ryan Gillenwater would also get past Derek, leaving him in 3rd. Snyder fought an oil leak which really hurt the handling of the car.
Next up is the Must See Racing Firecracker 50 at Owosso Speedway on Saturday, July 2nd. Racing starts at 7PM!
