Quick weekend!

The Navy racing team returned to Dixie and Angola Speedway this weekend after a crash at Kalamazoo. Snyder came out of the box strong at Dixie, as he was the fastest car in both hot lap sessions and set fast time in Qualifying with a 12.493. Snyder was forced to miss the heat race after he broke a part in the fast car dash. The crew thrashed and got the car back together for the feature. Starting 8th in the A-Main, Snyder was able to methodically move forward and finish 4th. The car was a rocket but there were a few issues that slowed us down in the feature.

Derek and crew stayed up most of the night to fix the problems with the car and get it prepared for Angola on Saturday. Their perseverance paid off as Snyder started off the night qualifying 6th out of 26 cars. In the Heat race, Snyder moved from his 5th place starting spot to finish 3rd. Snyder had a good starting spot in the feature on the outside front row. Geoff Kaiser immediately took the lead with Snyder on his tail. The car was quick and it looked as if Snyder would get a top 3 finish until the two restarts where he lost positions. Snyder ended up with a solid 5th place finish. A huge congrats to Ryan Litt for his first win with the Dowker Motorsports team!

Gettin Snydways - " I want to give a HUGE thank you to everybody that helped this weekend. There's no way I could do all of this by myself, it was hot out and everyone lost a lot of sleep to get this racing program right. So I want to give credit to Robert Snyder, Papa, Shannon Duff, Breanna Snyder, Deb Homezyn, Emily, Laura Huer, and Chris Duff for unselfishly giving their time. Also thanks again to the Navy, Airzoo, American Tinnitus Association, Pizza Hut, and IHOP for helping us get the car back on the track in the first place. Next race is Owosso and I hope to see you there!" - Derek
