White City, Oregon- Southern Oregon Speedway wrapped up their doubleheader weekend on Saturday, August 20th. The IMCA Northern SportMods had $3,000.00 on the line to win for the Dwayne Melvin Clash presented by the Pacific Sport Mods. IMCA Modifieds and Super 4’s were also in attendance.

Fred Ryland made the long trip from California worth it as he bagged a massive victory in the main event with the IMCA Northern SportMods. The Brentwood, California veteran was on top of the all-Golden State podium. Yreka’s Ryan Peery and Tyler Rodgers, from Chico, were second and third. Kenny Shrader of Pacheco, California, earned fourth and fifth finishing Medford native Mike Medel was the only Oregonian among the top five. California chauffeurs Ethan Killingsworth from Yreka and Red Bluff’s Keith Foux were the consolation feature winners.

Nick Trenchard beat out the competition in the IMCA Modified ranks. The Klamath Falls-based racer, driving for Biehn Racing, earned his third victory of the season at SOS. Keno’s Jeffrey Hudson, piloting the Don Roemer-owned entry, was the runner-up, while Justin McCreadie, from Phoenix, was third. Jon DeBenedetti, of Rogue River hit the line fourth with fifth going to Klamath Falls driver Steve Borror.

Lastly, the Super 4’s had an entertaining race. Skipper Klimcheck parked his mount in victory for the first time in 2022. Ross Payant and Charlie Eaton were second and third in the order. Medford’s Eric Massey placed fourth while Rikki Knight of Central Point got fifth.

Southern Oregon Speedway returns for another doubleheader weekend. The Western Sprint Tour 360 Sprints will be invading the 3/8-mile oval on Friday, August 26th, and Saturday, the 27th. Support divisions on Friday will be Mini Stocks with $500.00 on the line for them to win. Saturday will have Dwarf Cars and IMCA Modifieds.
