Carbone, Hoch, Deyoe Jr, and Wollaber Claim Lancaster Track Championships

LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 9, 2023) – Tony Carbone from Cheektowaga, NY earned his first Monroe Extinguisher Sportsman track championship. Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY clinched his second straight Budget RV Outlet of Buffalo Street Stock track title. Chris Deyoe Jr from East Otto, NY won his first Rusty Diamond Cores LLC 4 Cylinder track title. Dave Wollaber from North Tonawanda, NY won the main event for the Mighty TQ Midgets and clinched his sixth career track championship.

After nearly an hour delay due to weather, speedway management made the decision to call the show. Several attempts were made by the drivers and speedway officials to dry the track, but with the lateness of the evening and unfavorable conditions, the call was made to pull the plug on the remainder of the evening.

The only feature that was able to be completed was the 20-lap main event for the Mighty TQ Midgets, and it was Dave Wollaber collecting the victory, his 34th of his career at Lancaster Motorplex. Carl Schroeder and Brendan Wallace were on the front row, with Schroeder in the lead. Wallace would take the lead from Schroeder on lap two, with Mark Schulz and Dave Wollaber giving chase. Kyle Hutchinson would pass Schulz for third and would go after Wollaber and Wallace. Wollaber would take the lead away from Wallace on lap nine and would start to pull away from the field. Hutchinson would be able to work around Wallace past the halfway mark, but it wasn’t enough as Wollaber would go on to score the feature win.
