Inside Line Promotions – HAUBSTADT, Ind. (July 1, 2020) – Brenham Crouch will shift gears back to his micro sprint this weekend as a marquee event awaits.
Crouch is slated to make his debut at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Sweet Springs, Mo., this Thursday through Saturday during the John Hinck Championship. The winged outlaw event pays a whopping $20,000 to win and will draw many of the top competitors from around the country.
“I think it will be a lot like the Tulsa Shootout with a lot of talented drivers competing wheel to wheel,” he said. “I’m looking to capitalize on the opportunity and be competitive every time we hit the track.”
Crouch scored his first career winged outlaw feature triumph during his most recent start on June 14 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.
“It’s definitely something to boost our confidence,” he said. “When you have a car that good that you can depend on, even if you are buried in the field you believe you still have a shot to drive up through there.”
Crouch is coming off a midget event with Keith Kunz Motorsports last Friday at Charleston Speedway in Charleston, Ill., where he made his debut at the track during the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League race. He advanced from eighth to seventh place in a heat race and was moving forward in the B Main before a late-race incident ended the night early.
“The track slicked off real fast,” he said. “We got real aggressive to start the heat race and passed three cars. Then I battled with one for a while and that allowed one back by us. I ended up only passing one car so that buried us in the B Main. Keith made some changes to the car and it felt more balanced. We were up to eighth or ninth with the top six transferring to the main event. A car in front of us almost spun out. I lifted and someone got us from behind, giving us a flat left rear tire. It was just part of racing.”
A POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League race on Saturday at Tri-State Speedway rained out.
