On Friday night the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series event attracted a field of 29 Super Late Models, and Josh qualified seventh fastest in time trials, which locked him into the seventh-starting spot for the 30-lap feature.
Josh marked forward five spots to finish second in the $4,000-to-win finale behind Jensen Ford with Jadon Frame, Michael Chilton, and Sam Seawright completing the Top-50 finishers.
Persistent rain on Saturday forced the $10,000-to-win finale to Sunday evening.
When action resumed on Sunday a very wet facility awaited the racers for the $10,000-to-win program. Action got off to a slow start as staff and competitors worked hard to iron the facility in.
During qualifications Putnam registered the seventh fastest time to lock into the seventh-starting spot for the feature. He ran in the Top 10 throughout the 45-lap finale before crossing the finish line in seventh.
