The New 82 Speedway Releases Loaded 28-Event Schedule & Great Purse Structures!

Garland, TX (01/30/19) by DarinShort.com. What’s certain to bring exciting short track racing action to racers and fans across the North Texas, East Texas and Texoma region, today, 82 Speedway is pleased to release their 28-event schedule for 2019, along with base purse structures for track racing divisions.

The new 82 Speedway is a very wide, sweeping 1/3-mile banked dirt oval which hosts racing on most Saturday nights from MARCH 9th through October 19th. The facility holds 3,400 spectators in its elevated grandstands, which offer superb viewing from any seat.

Here’s the complete event schedule, as of 01/30/19, in a print-friendly PDF format: www.darinshort.com/82 . It will also be on their new website, www.82Speedway.com when it launches in the next week or so.

Several special events are a part of the 82 Speedway schedule. Highlights include the $2,000/win and $300/start NCRA 360C.I. Sprint Car Bandits series on April 27th, June 15th and September 28th (which is also an NCRA Sprint Series vs Sprint Car Bandits Shootout event); the Touring Outlaw Modified Series March 23rd and October 12th and the United States Modified Touring Series March 14th. Those event dates are all on Saturdays, except USMTS which is on a Thursday night (and the first event on their 2019 calendar).

The Texas Wing Modified Association will travel to 82 Speedway on three occasions (April 20, August 17th and October 19th), while the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Series of Oklahoma will compete on July 20th and the Southern Topless Modified Series will be on hand March 9th.

82 Speedway is also the home of the unsanctioned ‘82 Modifieds’, which is open to all IMCA- or USRA-legal Modifieds with two simple stipulations: the cars all compete on the IMCA-stamped Hoosier G60 tire (only) and a maximum 2” rear spoiler. There is no weight limit and this rules package is quickly picking up traction across the region. It has also been proven to be very competitive as the tire rule helps as an equalizer.

The 82 Modifieds are scheduled to race on 22 occasions in 2019, and all feature races pay a minimum of $1,000 to win! There is also a 25-lap feature scheduled on June 8th that pays $1,250 to win. There is no entry fee in this division, or any other division, for regularly scheduled 82 Speedway events in 2019.

The other divisions competing regularly at 82 Speedway includes the recently announced Texas Stocks; plus Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Econo-Limited Modifieds and Econo-Stocks.

To help break up the season in each division, there are two to three nights throughout the season that each division will be scheduled off. The complete schedule breaks down each race night and the divisions racing that night. Of the 28 scheduled events, the Limited Modifieds, Econo-Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Econo-Stocks each race on 26 occasions. The Texas Stocks are scheduled for 24 nights.

There are also some nights throughout the season that the track is scheduled off, again, to give a break to all the teams and track officials. See the schedule for details.

Other highlights include $500 to win Econo-Limited Modifieds on March 30th, Twin Econo-Stock features on April 13th, Twin Factory Stock features on May 4th, $1,000 to win Factory Stocks June 29th, $1,000 to win Limited Modifieds on August 24 and $750 to win Texas Stocks on September 21st. There’s plenty of additional featured items on the schedule, so check it out at the link below.

82 Speedway offers a very strong base purse structure for all regular scheduled events (but note that some nights are higher payback, see event schedule for nightly details):

82 Modifieds: $1,000 – 600 – 400 – 300 – 200 – 160 – 120 – 100…to start.

Limited Modifieds, Texas Stocks & Factory Stocks (same purse structure, each division): $500 – 300 – 200 – 160 – 120 – 100 – 90 – 80 – 70 – 60…to start.

Econo-Limiteds & Econo-Stocks (same purse structure, each division): $300 – 200 – 160 – 120 – 100 – 80 – 70 – 60 – 50…to start.

Non-qualifiers or non-starters will receive $30 each in all divisions. If a driver chooses to compete in more than one division on the same night, the driver must purchase an additional pit pass per division entered. On regularly scheduled events, if 11 or fewer cars in a division are signed in, the posted purse structure for that division on that night will start at 2nd place pay and continue down from that point on. If the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub, as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes. If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). There will be no grandstand tickets valid for a future date if races are rained out after the conclusion of all heat races.
.
There is a cooler charger of $5 each for smallish sized coolers, no glass containers are allowed through the ticket gate (grandstand only).

We also are in the process of developing marketing partners with area businesses. Please email Tracy Peters at TWPrepo@yahoo.com and he will get back to you at once. Several effective and affordable, made-to-order packages are available.

We hope to see you at the new 82 Speedway soon – as the season kicks off on SATURDAY MARCH 9th!
