Casey Johnson Bags Badger State 125

Wisconsin Dells WI 8/15/20-Edgerton's Casey Johnson continued his winning ways by capturing the Badger State 125 Saturday night in the Alive for 5 Series at Dells Raceway Park over Gabe Sommers of Plover WI.

Skylar Holzhausen and John Beale brought the 24 car field to green with Holzhausen leading the first part of the race until Casey Johnson would grab the point for the short term until Gabe Sommers would flex his muscle and lead the field until the 75 lap break of the event. At the break it was Sommers, Johnson, Holzhausen, Mike Lichtfeld and Luke Fenhaus. As the field came out for the final fifty lap run, Sommers looked unbeatable but Johnson kept the pressure on and found his opportunity coming off turn two and slipped under Sommers to take the lead for good. Johnson would win the event collecting the $4500 first prize with Sommers finishing second followed by Lichtfeld in third with current point leader Ryan Farrell grabbing fourth and the events fastest qualifier Jordan DeVoy finishing in the fifth spot. Heat Wins were picked up by Hunter Stenson, Jeff Storm & Dalton Zehr. Farrell was able to maintain his Alive for 5 Series point lead by three points over Johnson heading into the last two races on the schedule Sept 27th Icebreaker 100 and the season finale on October 24th the Falloween 150 where the 2020 Champion will be crowned.
