Tyker Hibner, Cadwallader, Keller, Bailey headline at I-35 Speedway

By Phillip Wilson (Winston, MO) -- One hundred and six (106) cars checked in at I-35 Speedway for the 11th annual McCarthy Auto Group Racin' for Rian night. The weather was a little warm, but the racing on the track was red hot and at the end of the night we lit up the sky like the Fourth of July with the greatest fireworks spectacular around. There were 7 classes with a total of 22 racing events on the track.

The E-Mods were first to hit the track, which saw Adam Dunwoodie and Aaron Jones on the front row. At the drop of the green flag, Dunwoodie would get out front and show the way for the majority of the 12-lap feature. One slight little bobble by Dunwoodie would allow points leader Casey Burnett to slip by and pick up his ninth feature win of the season. Dunwoodie would hold on for second. Chris Dishong would finish third, followed by PJ Conger and Aaron Jones.

The Pure Stock 12 lap feature would be a battle between the Starmers and the Dixons. Jake Starmer, Tyler Stamer and Brandon Dixon would swap the lead back and forth before the points leader, Ava Dixon, would slice and dice her way to the front picking up her second feature win of the season. Tyler Starmer would finish second, Jake Starmer third, Brandon Dixon fourth and Gracie Couch would have a good run finishing fifth.

In the Midwest Limited Late Models, Shayne Bailey got back to his winning ways as he picked up his 7th feature win of the season. Ed Noll challenge for the lead early until a restart would let Shayne Bailey slip away. Noll would finish second. Doug Burgess would rebound from an earlier mishap to finish third, followed by Paul Glendenning and Houston Johnson.

In the USRA B-Mods, Tyler Cadwallader would pick up his 3rd feature win of the season and would regain the points lead in his fierce battle with Corey Myers. Ethan Isaacs would have a great battle with Michael Taylor III, and Issacs would finish second and Taylor third. Behind them, the number 15s would wage war with Corey Myers finishing fourth and Colin Pierce in fifth.

The USRA Stock Car A-feature was a tightly contested race with Doug Keller picking up his second feature win of 2022. Shayne Bailey, again doing double duty tonight, would finish second. JJ Baumli would have a good run finishing third, followed by points leader Nic Hanes in fourth and Brad Whitney with a strong run finishing fifth.

In the USRA Modifieds, points leader Tyler Hibner showed pure domination as he closed in on a nine second lead over the field to take his second feature win of the season. The week prior, Tyler let his father Lee Hibner slip by, but tonight that wouldn't happen as Lee would finish second. Chris Spalding, Darren Shaw and Houston Johnson would wage war amongst themselves with Spalding third, Shaw fourth and Johnson fifth.

In Sport Compact action, Isaiah Penton would get back to his winning ways as he picked up win #6 on the season. He would have told hold off a couple of three-time feature winner with David Miller and points leader Brad Mick finishing second and third. They were followed by Mike King and Harold Robb Sr, who both had good runs finishing fourth and fifth.

In Little Buddies Power Wheels action, sponsored by TNT Builders out of Lamoni, IA, the 12 Volt class win went to Racelyn Romesburg followed by Weston Romesburg, Lillian Withrow and Kinslee Fuller and the 6 Volt class win went to Jackson Keller.

Congratulations to Fan of the Week Tyler Hoffman sponsored by Graphics King, Wild Child Nation, Corey Myers Racing and Dixon Racing.

Join us next week for the first race in July as it will be Metcalf Carstar Night and we will welcome back the Poweri Midwest Lightning Sprints.
