Interstate Sprint Car Series Set For First Two Rounds Of 2018 Season This Friday And Saturday; Format Officially Announced

Cottage Grove, Oregon- The rebranded Interstate Sprint Car Series is excited to kick off their 2018 campaign this Friday, May 18th, and Saturday, the 19th. Things begin on Friday night at Cottage Grove Speedway before teams migrate south to Coos Bay Speedway on the Oregon Coast on Saturday. Some excellent car counts are expected for both evenings of competition. In other news the ISCS has released their official format and can be found at the bottom of this release.
The Friday night General Admission ticket price at Cottage Grove Speedway is just $5.00 for everyone to watch some enjoyable racing. Pit Gates open at 3:00 PM, Front Gates 5:00, Hot Laps 6:30, and Racing at 7:00. Saturday evening, at Coos Bay Speedway, $12.00 for Adults, Seniors/Kids (7-17) $10.00, Children (6 & Under) FREE, and the Family Pass (2 Adults and 3 Kids) $35.00. Front Gates open at 4:00 PM with Racing expected to get underway around 6:30.

2018 Interstate Sprint Car Series Format
Pill Draw:
Pill draw for heat race positioning, each heat race group will group qualify in order
Heats will be lined up with a 6 car invert, failure to run hot laps in you group will result in being lined up in rear of heat
Heats:
Heat races will run with the ASCS point system however bonus points will be given for qualifying as follows: 1st-15 2nd-12 3rd-8 4th-5
Points will be tallied after all heats top 16 directly to A main
Ties will be broken by hot lap speed
Top 8 will redraw for A main line up in the event of a tie for 8th point position all cars will draw for position that are tied
17th through remainder of field will line up buy points for B main (Top 4 transfer to A main)
Number Of Heats:
17 cars or less 2 heats
18-23 3 heats
24-32 4 heats
33 + 5 heats
Number Of B Mains:
17-32 cars single B Main, transfer 4
33 plus cars , 2 B- Mains transfer 2 each
