Coos Bay Speedway
South Coast Shopper Sponsors Carload Night
The racing season is well underway at the speedway. After one of the wettest winters on recent history, Coos Bay Speedway has dodged some bullets with the weather man.
Saturday Nights events include a special carload promotion brought to you by the South Coast Shopper. The idea is to load your vehicle with as many people possible to take advantaged of the discounted admission. A person could literally pack a school bus with people and get into the main grandstands for the low price of $23.
Racing on the dirt oval for the third time this spring is the Whelen All-American Series Super Late Models, Sportsman Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Outlaws, Hornets, & the new Humboldt Side By Side Division.
The point chases are off to a tight start and big money as well as a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for the NASCAR Home Track Banquet is on the line in the Super Late Model division. Hometown hero Mike George is leading the pack with Jared Bemetz a close 4 points behind in second and Trent Elliot for LaPine Oregon rounding out the top three.
“The Whelen All-American Series is a great added bonus for our local drivers, for them to have the opportunity to associate themselves with NASCAR and be able to go to a top notch, black tie affair banquet in Charlotte is a pretty cool deal,” said Drake Nelson.
General admission is still available at the gate for those that don’t want to take advantage of the carload special. Regular pricing of $10 will get you in the gate. Grandstands will open at 4 pm with racing starting at 6:30 pm.
Coos Bay Speedway is located just off Highway 101 South then head 2.5 miles on Highway 42 East. For more information on any racing event you can log on to www.coosbayspeedway.us or call the hotline at 541-269-2474.
