West Volusia Tourism Continues Sponsorship With Volusia Speedway Park

BARBERVILLE, FL (August 23, 2024) - Continuing its effort to boost tourism in West Volusia, the West Volusia Tourism Bureau is extending its sponsorship with Volusia Speedway Park in a new multi-year deal.

The partnership will see the tourism group and speedway collaborating on initiatives to showcase the dirt track’s year-round schedule of racing and fan activities.

“The speedway is a major attraction in West Volusia,” said Georgia Turner, West Volusia Tourism executive director. “We’re very excited to be the preferred travel partner of the track. Now that the speedway has year-round events, it is terrific for tourism in our area.

“Summer is a slower time for us, so it has been great to have the Father’s Day weekend, the Back to School Night, the Summer Sizzler, all the different things that happen to bring people to West Volusia during times when things might be a little slower.”

The speedway still has several big events for the 2024 season before kicking off 2025 in January with the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (Jan. 22-25) and the start of the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Jan. 30-Feb. 15) – now a week earlier with the addition of the American Sprint Car Series National Tour.

Before then, the dirt track still has the Labor Day Classic (Saturday, Aug. 31), a weekly racing event (Saturday, Sept. 14), the Halloween Spooktacular (Saturday, Oct. 26), Points Championship Finale (Saturday, Nov. 16) and the 11th Annual Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial, featuring the best DIRTcar Modified drivers in the country (Thurs.-Sat., Nov. 21-23).

“The speedway is doing a lot of creative events like the Halloween Spooktacular and our Volusia County Night. We’re partnering with them to bring tourism professionals out to the track,” Turner said. “It’s a major part of what we do here in Volusia County. We’re very glad to have our own track – and that’s always our saying, we call it ‘our speedway.’”

West Volusia Tourism and Volusia Speedway Park have been working together since 2022, bringing new vibes to “old Florida.”

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the West Volusia Tourism Bureau, providing a year-round source of entertainment for local race fans and those visiting the area,” said Anthony Tate, general manager at Volusia Speedway Park. “With the help of the Tourism Bureau we’re able to further showcase everything Volusia Speedway Park has to offer.”
