“ROAD TO THE GOLD” ON HOLD UNTIL 2013; MOPAR .25 TRI-CITY EVENT SPORTS NEW TRIPLE CROWN CONCEPT
USAC Mopar .25 Midget Series officials and Tri-City Speedway race organizers have re-assessed the proposed “Road to the Gold” concept, originally scheduled as part of this weekend’s “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” program at the Pontoon Beach, Ill. facility.
After extensive re-evaluation, principals have focused on a 2013 format for the event which will involve Pontoon Beach as the final leg of the Mopar .25 Midget “Triple Crown Series.” Hagerstown and Eldora will host the the first two rounds in 2013.
“We feel, after our collective efforts, that the 2013 concept will produce a more viable result for all parties involved,” says USAC Developmental Director Kyle McCain.
This week’s USAC Mopar National Midget Series events are scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with the 4th DuPont “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” culminating in a $10,000-to-win final.
