(Middlebourne, WV) The ‘Biggest Racing Weekend of the Summer’ at America’s Baddest Bullring continues this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3 by welcoming Carl Short’s 55th Annual Hillbilly 100 back to Tyler County Speedway once again. Make plans now to attend the ‘oldest dirt late model major event’ in America as the Hometown Racing Association, promoters of the Tyler County Speedway roll out a Mountain State welcome to the best fans in racing for three days of three and four wide action around the ‘Bullring’.
The stars of the nationally known and premier traveling circuit the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Racing Series will return to the Tyler County Speedway with $30,000 dollars up for grabs and prospect of adding their name to the history books of the ‘oldest running late model major event’ in motorsports. Race fans are still buzzing about the 2022 edition of the Hillbilly as NASCAR & dirt racing superstar, Kyle Larson would hold off a determined Brandon Sheppard at the line to secure his first ‘Hillbilly 100’ title in front of an appreciative crowd.

Reserve seating is also available as the top 4 rows of the grandstands can be purchased for the weekend at just $10 per seat on top of ticket price. While the campground will be open all week long, the action will kick off in earnest on Thursday Night, August 31st with early Pit Parking and Will Call/ Tickets on Sale from 4-7pm along with plenty of Hillbilly extra curriculars happening throughout the campground.
The on-track action gets underway on Friday Night, Sept. 1st with the UMP Modifieds $1,500 to win ‘White Lightnin’ tune-up race along with the ‘Bootlegger 20’ $750 to win Street Stock main event. Plus its preliminary night for the EDGE Hotmods and Sportmods along with Mini Wedges and Open Practice for the Super Late Models, Steel Block Late Models, RUSH Late Models and SCDRA 4 Cylinders at the conclusion of Friday Nights action. Plus be sure to catch the ‘after party’ with the band ‘Buckshot’!
On Saturday Night, September 2nd the legendary ‘Hillbilly 50’ for Steel Block Late Models will highlight the action with a $5,000 first prize on the line in the 50 lapper. Plus the best UMP Modified racers will return for a $5,000 payday in the ‘White Lightnin’ 35’. The SCDRA Northeast Tour will hit the track with preliminaries and rounding out Saturday’s program will be the Lil’ Hilly 20 and ‘Moonshiner 20’ feature events for the EDGE Hotmods and Sportmods plus Mini Wedges.
Then on Sunday, September 3rd the 55th edition of the Hillbilly Hundred will take center stage featuring the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series paying $30,000 to win along with the $4,000 to win ‘Brown Jug 30’ for the RUSH Late Model Series, $2,500 to win ‘Ridge Runner 30’ for the SCDRA and the Ohio Valley Roofers Legends Car Series ‘Billy Bob 20’ complete show.
