Jeremy Wonderling Etches Name in Record Books by Capturing 21st Annual Eaton/Childers King of the Ring; Robbie Scott Earns Popular Super Late Model Wi

A long night at America’s Baddest Bullring that would see some 140 participants jam into the Tyler County Speedway pit area and make for another excellent night of action. A heavy and challenging racing surface would throw drivers a curveball early on but would eventually turn into the typical ‘Bullring’ 3 and 4 wide excitement race fans are accustomed to. Picking up feature wins were Jeremy Wonderling, Robbie Scott, Shawn Jett, Lance Weppler, Ron Pickens, Cody Brightwell, Jacob McDaniel, Cruz Thomas and Leah Brightwell.

In the 21st edition of the Eaton/Childers King of the Ring it would be New York racer Jeremy Wonderling bagging the win. A stacked field of 22 RUSH Late Models from five states and Canada would roar out of the Schreff’s Hometown BBQ Turn 4 Start Zone at the drop of the green. A great 30 lap feature that would see just two caution flags wave and lots of 3 and 4 wide racing throughout the field. The three-time RUSH Touring Series Champion and current point leader Wonderling would lead the races duration but heavy lapped traffic would force the leader to fend off several challenges from his brother Mike Wonderling and David Pangrazio. But at the stripe it would be Wonderling piloting the Terry Prince Contracting/Close Racing Supply/Cummings Trucking/Shuttleworth Sales/Penske Shocks by JDS/Swift Springs-sponsored #3J ahead of David Pangrazio, Mike Wonderling, Joe Martin and 15th starting Donnie Dotson.

A nice field of 17 Stutler Motorsports Super Lates would take to the fast and racey ‘Bullring’ with Shinnston, WV’s Robbie Scott picking up his first win of the season in his second night out. While no stranger to victory lane in his racing career, a former Lucas Oil Earl Hill Memorial winner at Tyler County, it had been awhile for the fan favorite. ‘Mighty Mouse’ would vault out to the early lead with a pack of rabid racers glued to Scott including Steve Weigle, Travis Brown, Kyle Thomas and Ryan Payne. Attrition would force some of the early runners pitside but Scott aboard his sharp looking #18 Kryptonite Vision would hold off a hard charging Travis Brown, Steve Weigle, Josh Tonkin and Ricky Conley to collect the win.

Perennial winner Shawn Jett would notch victory #4 in the Jenkins Auto Parts UMP Modified division. Jett would roll off the front row and cruise to the win aboard the Sam Irvin owned Pierce Chassis. Following Jett to the pay window was a season best runner-up finish for Kurt Rogers, Nick Corbitt, Chad Smith and current point leader Danny Thomas rounding out the top five.

Another robust field of Middlebourne Galaxy Food Center Sportmods that would see 30 entrants jam into the pit area. With the excellent turnout, promoter John Watson’s promise of double features anytime the class has 30 or more cars would see the field evenly split up into a pair of feature events. Current point leader Lance Weppler of Marietta, Ohio would roll to his 6th win of the season ahead of Pat Garrett, Sonny Conley, Sonny Leek and Levi Nolan in feature event #1. In feature #2 and ‘race of the night’ it was Parkersburg, WV’s Ron Pickens scoring his first ever feature win at Tyler County. It would not be easy for the likeable Pickens as a side by side battle with Wesley Reed early in the race and then holding off a charging TJ Arnold at the races conclusion would park Pickens in the EQT Victory Lane. Pickens pilots the Ohio Valley Timber/ Cornerstone Services/ Pike Street Lanes/ American Spray Insulation/ Kryptonite Race Car and would finish ahead of Arnold, Reed, Dwight Henry and Levi Wright.

A stout 23 car J&L Collison Center Hotmod field would take flagman Matt Amick’s green flag with ‘Bullring’ ace Cody Brightwell going back to back aboard the #62 machine and notching his 3rd win of the season. Brightwell would rocket off the front row and cruise to the win ahead of a game Eddie Probst, Tom Sigler, Mike Harter and CJ Dotson.

In the Dual Threat Sports Card SCDRA 4 Cylinder main event it was defending track champion Jacob McDaniel garnering his 5th win of the season in a hotly contested race between the 22MC of McDaniel and current point leader Travis Corbin. Some hard racing would see McDaniel wrestle the lead away from Corbin and park his McWilson machine back in the EQT Victory Lane ahead of Corbin, Mitch Eddy, newcomer Tyler Laughard, and Timothy Harlan.

The Hino Motors Manufacturing USA Mini Wedges would kick off the nights action with 18 youngsters taking to the challenge. In the Junior division it would be perennial winner Cruz Thomas rallying from the tail to notch win #7 of the season ahead of Eli Smith, Brently Carson, Coen Thomas and Colten Long. The Senior division would see Leah Brightwell best Bryson Roberts, Jake Casto, Kyndi Glover and Bryar Glover. The win was Brightwell’s 4th of the season.
