Lantern Fest Added to Sept. 11 BAPS Schedule, More Changes
YORK HAVEN, PA - The management team at BAPS Motor Speedway continues to diversify its schedule during the racing season.
On Sept. 11, the York Haven, Pa., the facility will host Lantern Fest at the speedway. The program will be hosted by The Lights. As for the racing program scheduled for that night, it will be moved to Sept. 18.
“We are very thankful that The Lights Company approached us about hosting the Lantern Fest at BAPS Motor Speedway,” BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse said. “They had something come up at another venue, and they had nowhere to go with an event that already had pre-sale tickets.
“We have always wanted to host one of these events at the speedway, and they are extremely difficult to get booked. To have several thousand people from the Baltimore and Philadelphia areas at the speedway for the first time is going to be very exciting for us.”
The Sept. 18 racing program will be sponsored by Brooks Graphix and Herr’s Potato Chips. Every person who comes through the gate will receive a bag of chips. It’s also $5 Ladies Night with wine tasting sponsored by Midas of Carlisle. There will also be pumpkin carving and a kids candy scramble sponsored by Rehbeins Service Center.
On the track, the Super Sportsman, 358 Late Models, Extreme Stocks, Limited Stocks, and a Street Stock feature will be in competition. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., with grandstands slated to open at 4 p.m. Racing begins at 6.
General admission for adults is $15. Seniors are $13, with students and ladies getting in for $5. Kids 12-under are free.
