Super Late Models Removed From July 24th Smokey Frye Classic

YORK HAVEN, PA - A shortage of parts and tires has forced the management team at BAPS Motor Speedway to postpone the Super Late Model portion of Saturday’s Smokey Frye Classic.

The Smokey Frye Classic will still be contested, but it will feature the Super Sportsman, Creekside Limited Late Model, and Extreme Stock divisions.

“After talking to several race teams and manufacturers, we have decided to postpone the Super Late Model race to a later date,” BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse said. “Right now, the lack of engine parts, tires, and materials are starting to show in car counts, and we feel that it’s in the best interest of everyone involved to postpone.

“We are going to still run the Smokey Frye Classic this Saturday, but it will be for the Limited Late Models with added money for the division.”

The Limited Late Models will be racing for $1,500 to win. If there are 35 or more cars, the winner’s share will be bumped up to $2,500. It will be $150 to start. If there are 40 cars, the start money will be doubled.

If there are 50 Limited Late Models in attendance, the winner’s share will be moved up to $4,000. It will also be $300 to start.

General admission for the event is $16 for adults. Seniors price is $15, with students getting in the grandstand for $10. Pit passes are $35.
