Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park was back to racing after a weekend off. Saturday, July 20th was the annual 4-Bee Bonanza. It is a unique event where the sixty-lap feature is run with the first thirty laps going the traditional direction and then at the halfway mark the field was pointed the opposite direction for another thirty laps. Other classes on the card included the Street Stocks, Outlaw Late Models, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, and New Bees.

Milwaukie’s Myke Landis scored a huge victory in the 4-Bee class. Landis bested the field for the first time in 2019 and was victorious in one of the biggest 4-Cylinder races in the Pacific Northwest. Joey Tardio, of Forest Grove, extended his winning streak to three in a row in the Street Stock division. Newberg’s Brian Winkler earned his second victory of the year in the Outlaw Late Models.

Jacob Myers, from Portland, now is a three-time Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stock victor in 2019 after a brief hiatus from the winner’s circle. Ric Fors, out of Vancouver, Washington, became the newest winner in the IMCA Sport Mods. Finally, Forest Grove’s Tori Chandler won her second race of the campaign in the New Bee division.

Sunset Speedway Park will be back in action on Saturday, July 27th for Driver Appreciation Night. Seven classes will be on the card including the IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Outlaw Late Models, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and both divisions of Micro Sprints.
