Racing Returns To SSP On August 5th

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park is back in action on Saturday, August 5th for another installment of the 2017 season. Though the temperatures may be warm the racing on the “Banks Bullring” will be even hotter. Classes on the card include the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds have hosted eight races and witnessed eight different winners. Craig Cassell, Aaron Elwess, Kenny Miller, Bubba Foster, John Campos, Collen Winebarger, Clark Tenney, and Jesse Williamson have all recorded trips to victory lane.
John Henry still has dominated the IMCA Sport Mod division. Henry has four wins in 2017 while Brian Cooper and Mike Medel have accomplished one victory each.
Arnie Case has managed to win twice with the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks. Joey Tardio, Chris West, Kyle Yeack, Joey Tanner, and Brad Gentry also have point triumphs to their credit. Jack Parshall and Rod Lowe are two drivers who were winners in non-point competition.
Finally, in the Pure Stocks two drivers have kept the rest of the class in check, Tanner Krohling and Larry Brookshire. Brookshire has visited the winner’s circle four times while Krohling has two wins. Rob Ferree is the only other feature winner this season.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
