WHITTAKER FORD “F50” 50-LAPS $5,000-TO-WIN UP NEXT FOR RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED SERIES AT SPENCER SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 2024
The Whittaker Ford “F50” is becoming a great tradition at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY and the race takes center stage this coming Friday with the Race of Champions Modified Series competing in a 50-lap event for $5,000-to-win at the paper clip half-mile speedway.
It will be the first of only two appearances for the Modifieds in 2024 and hometown favorite, Mike Leaty is up for the challenge.
“We are looking forward to it,” stated Leaty. “We had a good run this past Saturday at Holland and we are looking forward to a little bit of a home track advantage Friday, but it will be challenging and competitive as it always is. Spencer isn’t an easy place to win and it takes the right combination plus a little luck to get the job done. We’ve been very fortunate over the years to have it come together as many times as we’ve had it happen.”
Leaty won the Maynard Troyer Classic in dramatic fashion last season to close out the season, the last time the Modifieds were on track at Spencer.
The Race of Champions Super Stock will run a full program. The Rocket Performance 602 Sportsman Modified Series and Wilbert’s U-Pull It Four Cylinder and Wilbert’s U-Pull It Super Six Series will also join the card and run features only.
The “Food Truck Frenzy” featuring local food trucks and tastes from the area will also make its return with some unique additions. In addition to standard fare from the Ontario Volunteer Fire Department, there will be BBQ truck joining us as well as an Ice Cream truck along with the Williamson Apple Blossom Festival selling fried dough and more, along with the new addition of a popcorn truck
