Drake Troutman enjoys two-win weekend at Latrobe and Roaring Knob
Drake Troutman doubled down in Victory Lane over the weekend. He won a pair of events in his Smith Transport / RFI Resources No. 7 MB Customs Race Car / Lasalle Racing Engine Modified.
With the victories his 2021-win tally increased to nine.
“Other than getting rained out on Friday at Bedford (Speedway), our weekend went about as perfectly as we could’ve ever hoped. At Latrobe we swept the show and set a new track record, and then we scored a win on Sunday at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex,” Troutman shared. “We used Sunday’s event as a tune-up for this Friday’s Renegades of Dirt Modified event there, so hopefully we’ll be just as good Roaring Knob this week as we were last week.”
With Friday’s racing action at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) nixed by Mother Nature, Drake Troutman invaded Latrobe Speedway (Latrobe, Pa.) on Saturday afternoon to compete with the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds. After topping the charts in time trials to set a new track record, Troutman charged to a Dash victory to place him on the pole for the feature.
Outdueling Eddie Carrier Jr. and Mike Altobelli, Troutman soared to his eighth win of the season to pocket $2,000. Carrier Jr., Altobelli, Greg Hauger, and Jonathan Taylor completed the Top-5 finishers.
The following night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pa.), Drake secured his spot into the Modified main event with a heat race victory. Capturing his second win in as many nights, Troutman cruised to his ninth win of the season.
With his win on Saturday, Drake extended his advantage atop the latest Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour standings to nine markers.
