Red Cedar Speedway
Two in a row for Halopka at Red Cedar, Richardson, Kummer, Myers & Gleiter also victorious
It was the annual Red Cedar Speedway kids night this past Friday at the speedway. Many first time fans were in the stands to check out a night of action on the track.
Mark Hessler and Justin Weinberger led the field to green in the WISSOTA Modified division with Weinberger jumping out to the early lead. Shane Halopka started to make his charge to the front from the 6th starting spot as he worked past Kennedy Swan and Steve Hallquist and moved into 3rd position. Weinberger would continue to lead as Hessler pressured him to the outside. Halopka would close in on Hessler for second. Hessler would slip up slightly and Halopka would take advantage, moving past him into the runner up position. A few corners later Halopka would make his way around Weinberger for the lead and never look back, Weinberger would finish second followed by Hallquist, Kevin Adams and Kennedy Swan.
Alex Myers would lead right away in the WISSOTA Super Stock division, as he looked to drive away to his second win of the season at the speedway. Jesse Redetzke and Tom Karis would battle hard behind Myers for second. Redetzke was able to clear Karis and set his sights on Myers. Redetzke would get to the rear bumper of Myers and start to look to the inside as Curt Myers would clear Karis for third and look to run down the front two. As the race wound down Alex would hold strong out front and take the feature win followed by Redetetzke, Curt Myers, Tom Karis and Avery Anderson.
Jay Richardson and Justen Seipel would battle early for the lead in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified division. With Seipel taking the advantage on the high side. Seipel would look to stretch his lead but Richardson would not let him get away as he moved to the inside of Seipel. The two would battle lap after lap Brady Larson started to reel them in along with Will Moelter. Richardson would finally secure the lead as Larson moved to the inside of Seipel for second. Larson looked to be the car to beat but a mistake midway through the race sent him spinning. On the restart Richardson would jump back out front but his march to the win would not come easy as Moelter and Seipel were still right there when the laps ran out Richardson was the winner followed by Moelter, Seipel, Larson and Jesse Bryan.
Cody Kummer made the right moves early in the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature. Kummer would immediately jump to the outside from his 8th starting position and roll well into the top 5 after lap one. Kummer would then secure 2nd away from Gunnar Watkins and challenge Levi Randt for the lead. Randt would hold strong but Kummer was just too tough as he rolled by and drove away to the win. Followed by Randt, Kolby Kiehl, Watkins and Dylan Baskin.
Alanna Karis was the early leader in the Hornets and looked very strong as Brandon Gleiter and Jeff Schmitt would start to charge to the front. Gleiter would look both high and low and even pull alongside Karis but could never get the lead from her. Gleiter tried lap after lap with Scmitt in close tow. As the white flag flew Gleiter would make one last charge as the lead. As Karis made a slight slip Gleiter snuck by along with Schmitt with Karis finishing third followed by Jon Schutts and Vanessa Seipel
