Sawyer, Wickham, Nail, McIntosh, Mahaffey and Mabe Steal the Show on Back to School Night

TULSA, Okla. (August 12, 2018) - It was all Scott Sawyer, Jeremy Wickham, Jake Nail, Jace McIntosh, Shawn Mahaffey and Hayden Mabe leading the way in their respective classes during Back to School night at Port City Raceway on Saturday night.

The margin of victory in the POWRi Outlaw class was just 0.2 seconds between Scott Sawyer and Brock Berreth at the conclusion of the 20-lap feature event. Curtis Jones crossed in the third spot. Cole Roberts maneuvered around the berm to finish fourth and Kris Carroll came home fifth after starting tenth.

Delaney Jost was sixth. Kaylee Bryson crossed in seventh. Shawn Wicker eighth with Jake Rosario and Spencer Mason rounds out the top ten.

Jones and Danny James scored the nights two heat wins.

Jeremy Wickham fought off a very fast Dave Nicholson during the POWRi Sportsman feature event. Ryan Cody claimed the third spot. Matt Cash ran to fourth with Troy Minton bringing up fifth.

Larry Martinez was sixth. Bobby McIntosh ended up seventh. Cory Reed was eighth. Darrius Myers ninth and Jerry Heuertz tenth.

Cody and Wickham walked away with the Sportsman heat victories.

It was Jake Nail scoring the POWRi Non-Wing A-Feature event on Saturday. Chase Randall who started seventh was on the tail of the Sawyer Chassis 14R at the finish line. Curtis Jones claimed the final podium spot. Dylan Dickson ended his night in fourth and Koda Oller was fifth.

Conner Lee sixth. Seventh went to John Hull. Garrett Bias was eighth. Ninth went to Phillip Cordova and Robby Bias was tenth.

Cody Barnes, Nail and Dickson picked up the three Non-Wing heat races.

Jace McIntosh went to victory lane for the first time this season on Saturday night in the POWRi A-Class division. Kaylee Bryson followed suit to finish second. Ryan Timms took home the third spot. Conner Lee went home fourth with Chase Randall advancing seven spots to finish fifth.

Jake Rosario was sixth. Caleb Pence was the nights hard charger from from 21st to cross in seventh. Kris Carroll eighth with Spencer Mason and Garth Kasiner rounding out the top ten.

In heat race competition it was all McIntosh, Alison Slaton and Timms all claimed wins.

With 26 cars signing in the POWRi Restricted class was the biggest class of the night and Shawn Mahaffey topped the field at the conclusion of the 20-lap feature event. Joshua Gentry picked up the runner up spot with Ryan Timms third. Jase Mosley crossed in fourth and Glenn James Bratti fifth.

Kylee Young took the sixth spot with Elizabeth Phillips seventh. Eighth went to Ryder Laplante. TJ Thompson finished ninth and Ryker Pace rounding out the top ten.

Mahaffey, Timms and Laplante picked up the three heat wins while Chase Hyland took the checkereds first in the B-Main.

Hayden Mabe returned to victory lane in POWRi Junior Sprint competition at Port City Raceway. Brody McClelland finished second. Jase Blevins was third. Bryson Mosley ended up fouth and Hudsyn Truitt rounded out the top five.

Cale McGee sixth. Jackson Beers was seventh. Ayden Parrish was eighth and Freddie Rowland ended up with a DQ in tech.

Port City Raceway will return to action again on Saturday, August 18 with another night of PCR Weekly Championship Cup action for all six classes.
