TULSA, Okla. – Though the results don’t show it, Braydon Cromwell’s trip to Oklahoma and the Port City Raceway, Inc. amounted to progress being made throughout the weekend; Port City’s Spring Fling event was the attraction for micro sprint competition on both Friday and Saturday nights.

In Friday night heat race action, Cromwell would fight his car throughout the ten laps after starting third. He would ultimately fall to seventh by the end, with only the top 16 cars in passing points across the three heat races qualifying directly to the feature event. Missing the top 16 meant Cromwell would be remitted to the B-main. Unfortunately, the Lees Summit, Missouri racer again had trouble gathering the handle on his #4 Kid DynaMite Apparel Co. entry. He would line up seventh on the grid and drop one spot to eighth at the finish.

Looking to bounce back from the flat showing on Friday, Cromwell’s team scrutinized the Stallard Chassis and revealed a faulty torsion bar. They swiftly swapped out the bar for a new one and were ready for the finale. Cromwell’s fifth starting position in his heat race proved to be where he’d finish, as all four heats showcased little to no passing. The finish just narrowly excluded Cromwell from the top 16 in passing points; however, he was in the 17th spot because of his finishing point tally, giving him the pole for the B-main.

In the B, Cromwell hurriedly took the lead, commanding the field for half of the race. Later on, changes in the track surface began to wreak havoc on his toils. As the track got slicker, more cars were able to get by, and Cromwell was condemned to a seventh-place conclusion.

As the Cromwell camp went to the Tulsa oval with only the expectation to learn, and they felt that they did just that. Some of today’s top stars in racing got their start while racing weekly at the eighth-mile track, and because of that, they have elected to skip the two-day event at Atchison County Raceway they planned to attend. “We are going to Port this weekend again,” Cromwell’s father Mike insisted, with the notion that to be the best, you must compete with the best.

Cromwell would like to thank Eagle Motorsports Inc, Stallard Chassis, Kid DynaMite Apparel, COLD HARD ART, Helt’s Turf Farms, Donnell's Motorcycles, Oktane Visual, Schure Built Suspensions, Lemco Performance Specialties, and Nathan Benson Motorsports, as well as his family and all of his fans for their continued support.
