We're Back and Racing in the USA!
The BAR31 Team is back in the USA, and for several weeks have been getting things ready to hit the road. First on the schedule was a 3-day race weekend with the MARS Series.
The team was set to head to the Brownstown Bullring on Friday, but Randy Korte called and offered a test session. So, the hauler was loaded and went west bound on Thursday. The team shook down both cars and felt really good about the upcoming race. Then the rain came, and the races postponed.
We packed up and moved on to Peoria for the race on Saturday evening where 36 MARS late models signed in. Kye drew a #6 pill, which put him with the very first group to hot lap/qualify. He laid down a best lap of 12.804 seconds. That put him 7th in his group. Kye started 4th in the first heat race, and quickly jumped up to third when a caution came out. This started him on the outside on a bottom dominant race track. He fell back to 4th and that is where he finished the race - but it was good enough to get him into the A-Main. He started the feature in 13th position. It was a caution plagued race, but in the end, Kye took the checkered flag in 11th place.
Sunday evening was scheduled to be at East Moline, but again, rain caused the race to be postponed.
Our schedule this week has us at the Mississippi Thunder Raceway with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. The weather is not looking very good, so we do have a contingency plan. We will be racing somewhere if we have anything to say about it! Keep an eye out on our Facebook page (BAR31 Team) for any updates.
