National Midgets and Micros Return to Jacksonville and SIR
Belleville, IL – Buckle up race fans, as POWRi takes to the final two shows in the Midwest. Friday, October 19th the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League return to Jacksonville Speedway. After Mother Nature took a toll on the October 12th show and won the battle, POWRi and Jacksonville Speedway officials weren’t about to let her win the war and immediately rescheduled.
On Saturday, October 20th both Leagues will head south to Southern Illinois Raceway for the makeup of the Southern Illinois Shootout portion back in May. Rumor has it that a particular #21 machine out of the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports stable will be making an appearance, piloted by nonother than Christopher Bell.
With less than a handful of races left on the schedule, this weekend will play a deciding factor in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League point standings. Tucker Klaasmeyer’s point lead took a bit of hit after Saturday night’s DNF at Belle-Clair Speedway allowing Ryan Robinson to close. Zach Daum holds the third position with leading POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Rookie of the Year candidate, Karter Sarff in fourth. Jake Neuman rounds out the top five.
As for the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League, this weekend is for all the marbles. With a razor thin margin between Harley Hollan and Austin Schaeffer, the championship is still up for grabs. With one more win than Hollan, Schaeffer also has nine top five finishes to Hollan’s six. Jordan Howell holds the third position, with Joe B. Miller in fourth. Riley Goodno completes the top five.
