Trunks, Treats, Titles Cap Speedway Season

The 2024 Meridian Speedway season comes to a close this Saturday, October 26, with the Trunk or Treat Championship Races. Saturday’s festivities start with a free Trunk or Treat through the pit area from noon to 1:30 p.m. Then the green flag drops at 3 p.m. on the Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks, Domino’s Legends, Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stocks, Trammel Construction Stingers, Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets, and Speedway Bandoleros as they battle for championships and one last Trammel Construction trophy.

The Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks cap their 2024 campaign with a triple-header of 33-lap features. Taylor Occhipinti enters Saturday’s action as division points leader, but his 51 point advantage over second place Andrew Palmer is anything but safe. Will Occhipinti score his second division championship, or will Palmer race his way to his first title?

Domino’s Legends racer Leon Tridle III enters the Trunk or Treat Championship Races ready for a victory lap. Tridle III holds an all but insurmountable 133 point lead over second place runner Canyon Ashley. But Ashley has his hands full with third place point man Austin Murphy, who trails Ashley by a mere twelve markers.

Morgan Trammel looks to bring the Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stock title back to a rear-wheel drive machine Saturday. Trammel holds a sizeable 116 point advantage over second place runner and defending champ Don Trafford as they enter Saturday afternoon’s action.

The Trammel Construction Stinger division follows Makayla Trafford into the Trunk or Treat Championship Races. Trafford leads defending champion Ryat Gorringe by 49 points as they roll into the Concrete Jungle for the final time this year.

The closest point race of the night is between Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets drivers Titus Clancy and Cris Endicott. Clancy has slowly clawed his way to the top of the division, and now leads defending champion Endicott by sixteen points as they charge into Trunk or Treat Championship Races action.

The Speedway Bandoleros chase Bristol and Tayton Monroe into their final feature of the season. Bristol leads brother Tayton by 32 markers and defending division champion Mason Martin by 74 points.

Saturday’s pre-race Trunk or Treat is free to attend and runs from noon to 1:30 p.m.

General admission to Saturday’s Trunk or Treat Championship Races is just $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with action getting underway at 3 p.m. Log on to www.meridianspeedway.com to purchase your advance tickets now.
