Pearson Jr., Owens & Richards Top Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Prelims
The Cooper’s Country Meat Packer’s Clash at the Mag
to Feature Nation’s Best Dirt Late Model Pilots in a 100-Lap Finale on
Saturday Night
Columbus, Mississippi (06/15/18) - The Cooper’s Country Meat Packer’s
Clash at The Mag kicked off on Friday night as more than 110
competitors took part in the opening night’s festivities.
In Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition Earl Pearson Jr.
registered the fastest lap of the night in time trials before winning a
thriller in his heat race to lock into the pole position for Saturday
night’s $20,000-to-win finale. Jimmy Owens won the second heat race to
earn the outside-front-row starting spot, while Josh Richards emerged
victorious in the third heat race.
In Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series competition Evan Ellis topped a field of 26 entries to pick up the $700 top prize.
Mississippi Street Stock Series preliminary action found 25 entries in
action with Preston Seratt setting fast time and winning the first heat
race. Alabama’s Justin McRee won the second heat race, while Lee Ray
won a duel with Johnny Stokes to win the third and final heat race.
Tyler Collett scored the $250 win in the Factory Stock feature after a
spirited side-by-side battle with John Beard, while Nick Thrash
pocketed $350 for winning the Late Model Sportsman feature in dominant
fashion.
Action will reach a boiling point on Saturday night, June 18 as the
Cooper’s Country Meat Packers Clash at the Mag draws to a close with
championship night. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Super Late
Models will be contesting b-main action as well as the 100-lap, main
event, which will be taped by the MAV TV cameras for a future
broadcast.
MSSS Street Stocks will battle in a $2,000-to-Win program, while the
Durrence Layne Late Models will battle for $1,000-to-Win/ $50-to-Start
and Late Model Sportsman will battle for $400-to-Win/ $50-to-Start.
Factory Stocks will battle for $300-to-Win/ $50-to-Start.
Drivers Meeting is at 6:30pm SHARP with racing action starting at 7:00pm on Saturday.
Saturday Night Grandstand Admission is $30.00 for Adults, with Kids 6-10 $5.00, and Kids 5 & under free.
Saturday Night Pit Admission is $40.00 for Adults with Kids 6-10 years of age $30.00, and Kids 5 & under free.
FOUR WHEELER’s/ATV’s will be charged $25.00 for the weekend.
