Inside Line Promotions – ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (March 3, 2020) – Dylan Cisney accomplished a memorable feat on Sunday afternoon when he earned his first career feature victory at Lincoln Speedway.

Cisney won both a heat race and the 25-lap main event a week after kicking off his season with an 11th-place outing at the unique oval.

“The first week was what it was,” he said. “We were there to make some laps and get back in the swing of things. I wasn’t really looking to do anything overly aggressive or tear anything up. We got through the first week and I thought the car was okay. We brought the same thing back and all the draws worked out our way. We drew the No. 1 and started on the pole of the first heat. We got in the feature redraw by winning that and drew the No. 1 again.”

Cisney led the first two laps of the main event before veteran Brian Montieth took over the top spot on a restart.

“The track was getting pretty dry after the heats and B Main,” Cisney said. “They watered the top. I tried to get a warm-up lap up there, but I thought it was still slimy. Then I saw Montieth get around me and a yellow came out so we got the lead back. I tried to jump to the top on the restart, but he still got around us. At that point I figured if he outdrives us on the top that’s one thing. I wanted to stay calm and wait until we got to traffic and see what happened.”

Cisney ran second for 10 laps before he regained the lead on Lap 13.

“I closed back in on him in traffic,” he said. “I saw what happened and knew (Montieth) did a 360 really quick. I was just waiting to see if the yellow came out. I realized they were going to keep it green. I was trying to maintain the lead and not let the same thing happen to me. At one point Gerard McIntyre was there. He slid me and I got back around him. Then it was coming to the white I saw Danny (Dietrich) get under me in turns three and four. I figured I had a lot of pressure behind me. I just needed to put down one good final lap. Danny took one from me last year at Williams Grove and so I was ready to not let that happen again.”

Cisney hit his marks and held on for the win, which was made even more special considering the struggles he previously faced when racing there.

“That’s the last track I thought I’d win at,” he said. “I came close at Williams Grove and I pictured myself getting one there before Lincoln. The guys that run that track all the time are really good. They know how to get around that place. I think that’s the seventh time I’ve ran there. The track conditions change so fast. It’s hard to know where to put your car at.

“To get a win this early in the year is great for myself, the team and all our sponsors. It boosts everybody’s moods and morale. It gives everyone a good attitude and confidence going into the beginning of the year.”

Cisney plans on returning to Lincoln Speedway this Saturday before tackling the season opener at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., on Sunday.
